In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section-67 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988(59 of 1988) and having regard to the provisions of clauses (a) to (d) of the said sub-section and in supersession of the directions issued in the notification of Government of Orissa in the Commerce & Transport(Transport) Department No.10258-T. dated the 16^th August,2004 the State Government do hereby issue the following directions to the State Transport Authority, Orissa and Regional Transport Authorities in the State, namely:-

DIRECTIONS

The fares and freights for the stage carriages other than Town Buses plying within the State of Orissa shall be fixed as specified in the schedule below with effect from the date of issue of this Notification.

2.	Express Bus	..	40 paise per K.M. per passenger subject to a minimum of Rs.5.00 irrespective of K.Ms. travelled.
3.	Deluxe Bus	..	52 paise per K.M per passenger subject to a minimum of Rs.13.00 irrespective of K.Ms travelled.
4.	Deluxe A.C. Bus	..	62 paise per K.M per passenger subject to a minimum of Rs.13.00 irrespective of K.Ms travelled.

Totally blind persons or Orthopaedically handicapped persons having the bodily deformity to the extent of 50 percent and above, declared as such by the local Government medical Officer, travelling in the Stage Carriages shall be allowed hundred percent concession of the fare alongwith an escort with fifty percent concession of the fare and Orthopaedically handicapped persons having bodily deformity to the extent of forty percent and above but below fifty percent, will be allowed fifty percent concession of the fare (without escort) subject to the production of an identity card with passport size photograph from the concerned Block Development Officer or the Executive Officer of the Municipality/N.A.C. or the District Social Welfare Officer, as the case may be.

Mentally retarded persons certified by the Government Psychiatrist, not likely to pose any danger to the co-passengers, while traveling in Stage Carriages shall be allowed hundred percent concession of the fare and any person who escorts him/her shall be allowed fifty percent concession of the fare subject to the production of an identity card with passport size photograph from the concerned Block Development Officer or the Executive Officer of the Municipality/N.A.C. or the District Social Welfare Officer.

Note: 1 The amount of fare where there is a fraction of less than fifty

paise chargeable from a passenger shall be rounded upto the nearest rupee and where the fare is fifty paise or more than fifty paise it shall be rounded upto the next higher rupee.

Note: 2 The maximum rate of freight shall be 7(seven) paise per every

20 Kg. or part thereof per K.M. subject to free luggage facility upto 15 Kgs. of luggage per passenger. The freight shall be rounded upto the nearest fifty paise in case of a fraction less than 50 paise and to the next higher case of a fraction of 50 paise or more than that.
