No.LC-II-Gen-15/05:10922/T. In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section-67 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988(59 of 1988) and having regard to the provisions of clauses (a) to (d) of the said sub-section and in supersession of the directions issued in the notification of Government of Orissa in the Commerce & Transport(Transport) Department No.10263-T. dated the 16th August,2004 the State Government do hereby issue the following directions to the State Transport Authority, Orissa and Regional Transport Authorities in the State, namely:-

            For the stage carriages other than Town Buses plying within the State of Orissa a Town Buses, there shall be printed stage ticketing system. The fares for such Town Buses shall be fixedas specified in the schedule below with effect from the date of issue of this Notification.

          Double the rate shall be charged for Deluxe Buses and in the buses plying between Baramunda Bus Stand and Railway Station via Old Bus Stand in Bhubaneswar Town during the hours 10.P.M. to 5 A.M.

          Totally blind persons or Orthopaedically handicapped persons having the bodily deformity to the extent of 50 percent and above, declared as such by the local Government Medical Officer in-charge of P.H.C./Additional P.H.C. in case of rural area and Officer not below the rank of Assistant Surgeon of a recognized Government/Municipal Hospital/Dispensary in case of urban area, travelling in the Stage Carriages shall be allowed hundred percent concession of the fare and any person who  escort him/her shall be allowed fifty percent concession of the fare and Orthopaedically handicapped persons having bodily deformity to the extent of forty percent and above but below fifty percent, declared as such by the aforesaid Medical Officers shall be allowed fifty percent concession of the fare (without escort) subject to the production of an identity card with passport size photograph from the concerned Block Development Officer or the Executive Officer of the Municipality/Notified Area Council or the District Social Welfare Officer, as the case may be.

Mentally retarded persons certified by the Government Psychiatrist, not likely to pose any danger to the co-passengers, while travelling in Stage Carriages shall be allowed hundred percent concession of the fare and any person who escorts him/her shall be allowed fifty percent concession of the fare subject to the production of an identity card with passport size photograph from the concerned Block Development Officer or the Executive Officer of the Municipality/ Notified Area Council or the District Social Welfare Officer, as the case may be.
