The performance on this point is yet to improve
in the districts like Angul, Gajapati, Ganjam, Jharsuguda, Kendrapara,
Nawarangpur, Subaranapur and Sundergarh. The Collector, Nawarangpur
should be particularly vigilant on this point as the number of retail
outlet points which did not lift the stock stands at 24 out of the
total figure 104 for the State as a whole.

Safe Drinking Water |
|

565 & 555 habitations in Rayagada &
Kandhamal districts respectively are without safe drinking water out
of the total figure of 4078. The position in this regard has been
very high for quite sometime and was discussed specifically in the
review meeting taken by Chief Secretary on 08.07.04. It requires immediate
attention of RD Department. |
|

The position of the districts such as Kendrapara,
Mayurbhanj, Angul, Nayagarh, Gajapati, Boudh, Deogarh, Dhenkanal,
Keonjhar, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nawarangpur, Sambalpur & Sundergarh
are no better.

Medical care facilities need to be tightened
specifically in the KBK districts where the deaths due to malaria
have been reported, particularly in the district of Koraput where
the death due to Malaria is 15.

Job Seekers |
|

2168, 1873, 909, 856, 845 & 830 are in Dhenkanal, Jagatsinghpur,
Kalahandi, Jajpur, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Nawarangpur, Puri & Nuapada
districts respectively against the state figure of 19,420. |

All Collectors were requested to indicate
the quantum of foodgrains available against co.2 of Format-D. The
Collectors of Dhenkanal & Kandhamal have failed to comply the
instructions. While compiling these information, 18 Collectors should
take into account the availability of foodgrain under newly introduced
NFFW Programme in 18 districts.

104 numbers of retail outlet points did
not lift the monthly stock under PDS. The position, however, appears
to have been improved in comparison to last fortnight. Care should
be taken by the concerned Collectors to minimise the numbers &

Under AY scheme 242 beneficiaries have
not lifted their entitlement during the fortnightCollectors of Angul,

take it seriously as the number of beneficiaries who have not lifted
their entitlement stands at 51, 48, 40, 19, 17, 13 & 12 respectively
particularly Collector, Balasore.

Antodaya Anna Yojana |

416, 209, 178, 145, 133, 122 & 110 AAY
beneficiaries in Rayagada, Angul, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Puir, Keonjhar
& Bargarh districts respectively have not lifted their entitlement
till 28th of the month out of 1,753 total defaulters. Effective steps
should have been taken by the Collectors to minimise the no. of defaulters.

8 & 5 AW centres in Kendrapara &
Mayurbhanj districts respectively stopped functioning since last fortnight
out of the total of 18. The Collectors must take required step to
make those functional. W & CD Department should specifically take
up the matter. |

% of Grade-III & IV children is still
continuing to be high in Nawarangpur, Nuapara, Bolangir, Jharsuguda,
Sundergarh and Kalahandi districts. W & CD Department may streamline
the matter & take effective steps to minimise the percentage.

MDM |
|

The supervision of MDM programme should be
tightened. The Collector, Angul should report the reasons as to why
the MDM have been stopped in 83 schools since 24.02.05. |

Maximum nos. of beneficiaries those who have
not received their pension are in the districts of Angul, Balasore,
Bargarh, Boudh, Bolangir, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Jajpur,
Jagatsinghpur, Jharsuguda, Kalahandi, Khorda, Mayurbhanj, Malkangiri,
Nayagarh, Nuapada, Puri, Sambalpur & Sundargarh respectively.
All out efforts must be made by Collectors to keep this number to
minimum as 77,960 benificiaries in the state have not received their
pension. |
|

The report of the Collector Bhadrak stands
at `zero’ since first fortnight of January,04 which is a good
sign. Kandhamal has achieved the goal since first fortnight of October,
04 & Collector, Rayagada has also achieved the target during this
fortnight. |
|

Other districts should follow the example.

Prolonged illness |
|

|
234 main bread earners have been suffering
from prolonged illness out of which 110 in Dhenkanal, 76 in Nuapada,
31 in Rayagada district. Collectors should report separately regarding
the action taken to ensure food security of these families. |

Collectors of other districts should intimate
regarding specific action taken by them in this regard before submission
of the next fortnightly report.

water stands at 4,078 and has gone up from that of the last fortnight.

CONSTRAINTS |
|

|
The Collectors have reported
that 5.68 lakh additional beneficiaries need to be covered under Supplementary
Nutrition Programme. W & CD Department should bring out the status
of additional coverage. |
|

|
The report from the districts reveals that
7796persons have not received Old Age Pension / Widow Pension. This
area further requires the close monitoring and streamlining by the
block administration |
|

|
The Collectors have reported that 76,263
destitutes are in dire need of pension. This is a primary tool to
curb malnutrition & hunger. W & CD Department should take
steps in the matter. |
|

|
It is seen from the reports that 4,078 habitations
require tube wells immediately for safe drinking water. RD Department
may report the current status in this regard. |
