Supply of PDS rice

 PDS rice is being supplied @ Rs. 2.00 kg to all the BPL families and non-BPL families in KBK districts with effect from August, 2008.  The scale of entitlement is 25 kg per family per month.  The coverage extends to 37.58 lakh non-AAY BPL families and 5.56 lakh non-BPL families in KBK districts.  Prior to August, 2008, the consumer price was Rs. 6.30/kg for BPL rice and Rs. 4.75 / kg for specially subsidized BPL rice (@ 16 kg per family) in 143 ITDP/ DPAP blocks.

 Antyodaya Anna Yojana

 35 kg rice per family per month is being provided for 12.645 lakh AAY families @ Rs. 2/- per kg from August, 2008.  Prior to this, the consumer price was Rs. 3 per kg.

  Annapurna Yojana

 Destitute old age persons who are otherwise eligible for old age pension, but not included in the scheme are provided 10 kg rice free of cost under this scheme.  64800 persons have been covered under the scheme.

 Subsidised PDS Kerosene

 PDS kerosene at subsidized rate is supplied to ration cardholders.  The scale of entitlement is upto 4 litre per card per month.

 Subsidised Edible Oil

 Subsidised RBD Palmolein @ 1 litre per card is being made available for distribution.

 Procurement of Paddy

 Paddy is procured from farmers at the minimum support price under price support operations.
