Sub: RLTAP sponsored project on “Block level Resource atlas and GIS database generation for KBK districts of Orissa.
Sir,
The Planning & Coordination Department, Govt. of Orissa in collaboration with Orissa Remote Sensing Application Centre (ORSAC), Department of Science & Technology is taking up preparation of the “Block Level Resource Atlas and GIS Database” for all the eighty blocks of KBK region under RLTAP scheme. The project is funded out of RLTAP for KBK districts.
The block wise Atlas and GIS database will be of immense help to the administrators, decision makers and planners in assessing and preparing developmental schemes for the KBK region.
The data collection from the ground and its GIS linking ( as per ORSAC designed data format as finalized during a meeting attended by the secretaries of line Departments) has been outsourced by ORSAC and the vendors will collect the data from Block and Panchayat level offices during March, 2006. The list of vendors and the blocks allotted to each is enclosed.
All the district, block and G.P. level officers may be instructed to provide the requisite data on village wise infrastructure/ schemes/ socio-economic status etc. as per the format to the personnel of the concerned firms approaching to your office to facilitate timely completion of the Atlas. The vendors would be meeting the Collectors, P.D., DRDAs, Sub-Collectors, P.A, ITDAs, BDOs and Sarpanches before they visit the Blocks and the GPs and after having collected the relevant data in the prescribed format would again meet these officials starting with the Sarpanches and the BDOs upwards to the Collector. The evidence of such meetings both before and after the data collection should be enclosed to the reports
