GRANT SCHEME
OBJECTIVES
One of the objectives of Science and Technology Department is to promote scientific temper and environmental awareness among the people of the State. In order to encourage research in the field of Science and Technology, Scientists of the State are provided partial financial assistance to enable them to attend National/International Conferences, Seminars, Workshops, Symposiums etc. where the Scientists present their research/scientific papers. The purpose of above financial assistance is to enable the Scientists of the State to interact with leading International Scientists in the area of their specialisation in order to sharpen their knowledge in their respective field.
ELIGIBILITY
1. The applicant should be a Scientist of the State i.e Doctor, Engineer, Professor, Lecturer etc. working under Government / Non-Government Organisation in the State of Orissa. 2. The applicant should be a permanent resident of Orissa as per the Home Department Resolution No. 38-Reforms dtd.18.1.1949. 3. The applicant's research/scientific paper to be presented in the Conference should be in the field of Science and Technology with some relevance to the State of Orissa. P.T.O :
| 2 : APPLICATION PROCEDURE The applicant should apply to the Science and Technology Department, Government of Orissa, Orissa Secretariat, Bhubaneswar in the prescribed application form through proper channel enclosing following documents. 1. A copy of the invitation letter from the Organiser of the Conference indicating that the research/scientific paper of the applicant has been accepted for presentation in the Conference. In case the Scientist is not going to present a paper, he/she should submit a copy of the invitation letter from the organiser of the Conference indicating that he/she has been invited to Chair a technical session of the concerned Conference. 2. A copy of the air fare certificate from a recognised travel agency indicating the cost of to and fro air fare. 3. A copy of the full paper of the research/scientific paper to be presented by the applicant in the Conference. 4. Copy of the letter/document indicating sanction of financial assistance from any other source in favour of the Scientist for attending the said Conference. 5. Any other information pertaining to the Conference. After receipt of application in prescribed format alongwith copies of documents as listed above, the application would be placed before the Departmental Appraisal Committee for consideration/sanction of partial financial assistance subject to availability of fund. Under Travel Grant Scheme, partial financial assistance is provided by Science and Technology Department only towards cost of air fare and not for other expenses. The Science and Technology Department reserves the right to reject any application without showing any reason for the same. FORM OF APPLICATION |

VISION OF THE GOVERNMENT ------------------------ With a massive mandate received from the people of Orissa, my Government is committed build a prosperous, self reliant and self respecting Orissa. Our first step of the 21st century shall be the age of building a new era for Orissa. The BJD-BJP alliance is pledged to expedite the economic growth of Orissa along with establishing quality in the society and strengthening communal harmony. There shall be an able, clean transparent and responsible Government established. Corruption shall be crushed with iron hands and strict measures shall be taken against corrupt practices. Any person seeking redress to his grievances from the Government shall be replied through post as well as E-mail in a particular time limit Top priority will be given to the protection of women and their respect in the society. The Government is committed to a governance that is citizen-friendly and helps empower the people in bridging the gap between Government and the masses and thereby build a stronger Orissa and preserve, promote its rich art and cultural heritage and make the people of Orissa proud of themselves. |

M I S S I O N ------------- 1. The Government is determined to provide an efficient and effective administration. A commission shall be set up for the administrative reforms and simplification of administration. The Panchayati Raj Institutions will be more strengthened by giving more powers to people and their representatives. The Panchayats and Co-operatives shall be given the charge of PDS. 2. Corruption will be dealt with iron hand and measures will be taken against corrupt practices. Special Courts shall be established to decide cases of corruption at high places. 3. The existing revenue laws will be reviewed and made time oriented. The Orissa Relief Code shall be modified to be time oriented. 4. Computerize management information systems will be encouraged in the administration. The priority areas will be land records and their preservation, registration of lands, collection of sales tax, treasury transaction, collection of motor vehicle taxes, collection of excise duties, timely payment of pension etc. 5. There shall be a LAN in the Secretariat and network connection and application from State to block level will be encouraged. |
