The three most important
objectives of the Department are indicated below:
(i) To Assess the
mineral wealth of the State through surveys and exploration.
(ii) To permit exploitation
of mineral wealth in an economic and effective manner with due consideration
for
(a) Conservation
of minerals for future generations.
(a) Increase the
resources of the State and income of the people.
(iii) To promote
establishment of Steel Plants in the State.
