1. Gem Stone Policy is being formulated so that the Gem Stone resources
of the State can be exploited in a most profitable manner.
2. Negotiations are under
way with several major mining & mineral Companies to
establish mineral
based industries in Orissa for optimum utilization of minerals for value
addition.
3. A well defined and transparent "Mineral Policy of Orissa" is being formulated which will provide
a foundation for sustainable development of minerals based on transparency
and consistency. The Policy will also provide some guidelines both to
the entrepreneurs for their ventures and to Govt. machinery in mining
and mineral sector for ultimate benefit of the state.
4. Dissemination of the
aero magnetic data for acquiring mineral concession in the state.
