Handlooms
During the 10th five year plan commencing from the
financial year of 2002-03 to 2006-07, handloom cloth of 297.89 lakh
square meters were produced till the end of 2004-05, generating
employment to 101888 weavers.
During 2004-05 under RLTAP 125.00
lakhs were sanctioned benefiting 1215 weavers through marketing
incentives, revolving working capital, weaving accessories and
common facility centre.
Under market development
assistance 276.95 lakh under State Share and Rs.148.28 lakh towards
Central share of assistance have been spent to clear up backlog
pending claims of 427 nos. of Primary weavers co-operatives
societies and two nos. Apex co-operative organization during
2004-05.
Under rebate on sale of
handloom clothes in NH Expos and exhibition a sum of Rs.6.19 lakh
towards state share and Rs.51.04 lakh towards Central share of
assistance have been spent providing benefit to 98 nos. of handloom
agencies during 2004-05.
For development of exportable
product and their marketing a sum of Rs.6.89 lakh towards state
share and Rs.13.19 lakh towards share of assistance have been
utilized for 3 nos. of projects approved by Govt. of India for
implementation in the district of Koraput, Cuttack and Angul during
2004-05.
Under Deen Dayal Hatkargha
Protsahan Yojna a sum of Rs.63.84 lakh towards state share and 79.79
lakh towards central share of assistance have been spent under
marketing incentive providing benefit to 157 nos. of PWCS during
2004-05.
In another objective to
provide basic input such as supply of improved looms and
accessories, margin money etc. to needy PWCS during 2004-05 a sum of
Rs.2.05 lakh have been spent towards state share of assistance.
Sericulture
The object of the scheme
is to provide assistance to the Sericulturist by supply of planting
materials, disinfecting material , preparation of Chowki worms,
incentive bonus to bi-voltine rearers, study tour & training to
Sericulture rearers, organization of seminars, farmers' day
exhibition, Chowki rearing training printing of publicity material
etc. The schemes are being implemented by assistance from the state
Govt. and Govt. of India through Central Silk Board. During the year
2004-05, a sum of Rs.30.00lakhs has been spent towards state share
of assistance.
During the 10th five year plan 132.28 metric tone of
yarn were produced providing employment opportunity to 17340 farmers'
up to end of 2004-05
32.53 metric tons of Tassar silk were produced generating
employment to 13508 farmers in mulberry sectors and 1.85 metric tons
of raw silk were produced generating employment to 2935 persons in
Eri sectors. 0.55 metric ton of raw silk were also produced
providing self employment to 896 persons.
Promotion
of Sericulture Industries continued to operate in the state along
with KBK districts under RLTAP .During 2004-05 a sum of Rs.50.00
lakh were sanctioned and 295 families were benefited in mulberry
plantation and silk worm rearing, construction of one MECS and one
MRS building, establishing one Eri farm-cum-grainery house and
renovation of two Tassar seed infrastucture projects.
