For sustained development of
Handloom Industries, emphasis has been laid on modernization of
looms, accessories & training of handloom weavers for up-gradation
of their skill. The achievement in production in the Co-operative
sector during the year 2003-04 is in the order of Rs. 4141.99 lakh.
It has also been programmed to achieve production of cloth to the
tune of Rs. 9280.00 lakh during the year 2004-05 with a view to
exploit the strength of the Handloom Industry for development of
Socio-economic condition of handloom weavers. Number of schemes has
been formulated by Govt., which are noted below.
