  1.  The State has mysterious wild forests, blue beaches, golden sands, majestic rivers and mountains and an array of wild creatures including the wild silk moth like Tassar & Eri.

  2. “Silk the queen of Textiles” is most sought amongst the natural fibers for its elegance, feel, luster & colorfastness. The weavers of Orissa are known for exquisite craftsmanship in utilization of these Tassar, Eri & Mulberry silk produced in the state.

  3. Silk is consumed mostly by the affluent and the money so spent by them on purchase of silk gets distributed among the sericulturists, reelers, twisters, weavers and trader. There by sericulture industry plays a vital role in transfer of wealth from rich to poor.
