SPINNING MILL & POWER LOOM

In this sector there are 7 Coop. Spinning mills, one composite Mill i.e. OTM, one Ganji factory i.e. New Mayurbhanj Textiles at Baripada and 10 numbers of Power loom Cooperatives, out of which only Konark Cotton Grower Spinning Mills, Kesinga is in running condition. Rest units are under privatization/liquidation. The activities of the units are managed by an Apex Federation i.e. Orissa State Coop. Spinning Mills Federation under Directorate of Textiles.

 The other agencies working in Textiles sector are I.D.C of Orissa, which operates 3 spinning mills, the privatized Gangpur Spinning Mill and many power loom units in private sector. This sector is looked after by Department of T & H formally with involvement of the Directorate of Textiles.
